Stain is not as low maintenance as assumed or sometimes promoted. Stain is not designed to last like paint and can break down quite quickly, especially when in exposed areas or areas prone to moss and mould.
Using quality products and keeping on top of the maintenance keeps your property in good condition and looking as it should. Good maintenance ends up being more cost effective than letting it go and then trying to catch up in one go.
After thorough cleaning and de-moss/de-moulding, we use a very high quality product. It looks great and offers good protection, but we recommend looking at every 2 or 3 years to check for and maintain protection.
No matter who you choose to do your work or even if you do it yourself, have a plan. Choose one high quality product and stick with it, don't chop and change products and stay in front of the maintenance, not behind it. |
